Hash Brown-Crusted Quiche

Time to Prepare: 10 minutes Cook Time: 55 minutes Serving: 6 People


Ingredients

16 - 20 ounces frozen hash browns thawed 1/2 stick melted unsalted butter 4-6 large eggs 1 cup heavy cream or whole milk 1 cup diced ham 1 cup swiss cheese 2 whole (only green part) scallions, finely chopped salt and pepper to taste

Cooking Method


  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.

  2. In a large bowl, gently toss the hash browns with the melted butter to coat. Season with salt and pepper. Press the hash browns into the bottom and up the sides of a pie plate to form a crust. Bake for 25-30 minutes.

  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and heavy cream. Add the swiss cheese, ham, scallions and stir. Season with salt and a dash of black pepper.

  4. Pour mixture on top of the hash brown crust. Bake at 350 degrees F for approximately 30-40 minutes or until set. Let cool slightly, cut into wedges and serve.

HELPFUL TIPS


You can make this quiche with (cooked and crumbled) bacon or sausage and use cheese of your liking, like cheddar, Monterey jack, gouda or shredded mozzarella.
